Annual Support Campaign

The Lancaster Family YMCA is committed to improving the lives of children, individuals and families in Lancaster County through our focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

Y programs teach kids to embrace the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, giving them the foundation they need to make the right choices about their lives.

Families spend quality time together at the Y, playing together and staying fit together, strengthening connections and making memories that will last a lifetime.

WITH YOUR SUPPORT IN 2011:

• The Y provided more than $235,000 in financial scholarship to members and Camp Shand campers.
• The Y became the first Power Packs Project affiliate, providing weekend meals to 26 families in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District.
• The Y launched the CaRE (Cancer Rehabilitation Exercise) program with Lancaster General Health, providing a personalized wellness program to 36 recovering cancer patients at no cost to them.
• The Y joined with the School District of Lancaster to provide 135 children with after-school enrichment at three elementary schools through a 21st Century Community Learning Challenge Grant.

JOIN WITH US IN 2012 AS WE:

• Increase the amount of financial scholarship we make available to individuals and families in need, ensuring everyone can be a part of the Y.
• Collaborate with Water Street Ministries to provide recreational opportunities and youth mentoring to their residents.
• Address the "summer achievement gap" by providing affordable quality summer learning opportunities to children from low- and middle-income families.
• Engage the community in combating childhood obesity and preventing diabetes through healthy eating and an active lifestyle.

You can make a very real difference in someone's life.

• A gift of $2,500 provides eight children with a safe place to go after school for an entire year.
• A gift of $1,000 enables three children to spend a week at Camp Shand, playing and learning where they feel safe and welcomed.
• A gift of $500 provides a Y membership to a family coping with the emotional stress and financial pressures of helping a child or parent recover from a life-threatening illness.
• A gift of $250 gives a disadvantaged teen an opportunity to make healthy lifestyle choices with a Y membership.
• A gift of $100 provides Power Packs meals for a family in need for 10 weekends during the school year.
• A gift of $50 provides a child with swim lessons, building his confidence and ensuring his safety.
