Certification Courses

Lifeguarding

The YMCA is proud to offer life guarding classes throughout the year. The 30-hour Red Cross Lifeguard Course also includes First Aid, CPR, AED and oxygen administration for the professional rescuer. Certification is open to anyone 15 years of age or older. You must attend all sessions in order to become certified.

Fee:
Members - $200
Potential members - $225

CPR/AED

The YMCA also offers an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification course for the Professional Rescuer. There is about 8 hours of classroom work, completed over two evenings. Participants must pass a practical and written exam to become certified. This course is open to anyone 15 years of age or older.

Lifeguard Refund Policy

Participants DO NOT receive a refund if the following occurs:

Any class is missed (participants must complete all 4 classes in their entirety)
Participants fails the course's FINAL tests

Participants RECEIVE a refund if the folliwng occurs:

Participants fail the pre-requisite swim test
