Lancaster Y Foundation Matching Partner

To help area non-profits take important steps to secure their future, the Lancaster County Community Foundation (LCCF) launched an endowment matching program to help sustain vital programs and services. The Lancaster YMCA Foundation was selected as a recipient of a $10,000 endowment match through this initiative in August 2009. In January 2010, the YMCA Foundation completed the requirements for the matching grant and established an endowment fund that is part of the Lancaster County Community Foundation.

Along with the matching funds noted above, LCCF is also providing $75,000 in a capacity building grant over the next three years to assist the YMCA Foundation in their endowment campaign efforts. In addition to specifically helping the YMCA Foundation expand their planned giving program, the investment from LCCF will provide wider benefits to the local nonprofit community by serving as a model that offers opportunities to learn through discussion panels and sharing of best practices.

Through this partnership with the Lancaster County Community Foundation, the Y is providing our members and friends with another vehicle by which they may choose to support the Lancaster Family Y. Giving options through LCCF include Charitable Gift Annuities, Donor Advised Funds, as well as outright gifts. The Lancaster YMCA Foundation fund is listed on the Lancaster County Community Foundation website at www.lancastercountyfoundation.org/funds/lancasterymca, where donors may make a secure online gift.
