Campaign For Youth:
YMCA Celebrates Success of 2007 Campaign for Youth:
The Lancaster Family YMCA has raised over $215,000 in its annual Campaign for Youth, surpassing an unprecedented campaign goal of $200,000. The campaign's goal reflects a 33% increase over last year's successful campaign goal of $150,000. Campaign co-chairs Kit and Pete Slaugh led the fund-raising effort with more than 65 volunteer team members from throughout Lancaster County. "In addition to the generous support of Lancaster's benevolent community, we're grateful for the support of the YMCA staff, Board and Foundation members, YMCA members and past donors," said Pete Slaugh at the campaign's Victory Celebration. In addition to Pete Slaugh, managing director of Coldwell Banker Homesale Services, and Kit Slaugh, active community volunteer, the campaign’s executive committee includes Board Campaign Chair Mary Ann Shirk; Chairman’s Round Table Chair Greg LeFever, President of Bank of Lancaster County; Team Campaign Chair Bill Boben, Associate Broker with High Associates, Ltd.; YMCA Staff Chair Chris Smith, Camp Shand Director; Publicity Chair Jill Brown, owner of JB Communications; YMCA CEO Jeff Kenderdine and YMCA Director of Financial Development Beth Grossmann.
The Campaign For Youth is the annual fundraising campaign that provides YMCA program support and financial assistance so that any child and family may participate in YMCA programs regardless of their ability to pay. Programs supported by the Campaign include YMCA after school programs, day and resident camp programs at Camp Shand, Y youth development programs such as fitness programs, swim lessons, and youth sports programs. The success of the Campaign directly means that more children will be able to benefit from YMCA programming. All YMCA youth programs serve as tools for building the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Since 1854, the Lancaster Family YMCA has been a respected non-profit institution committed to serving the community as a source for health and wellness, recreation, enrichment, after school programs and other services for children and families for over 150 years.
Through the Campaign for Youth, your contribution helps us provide YMCA program support and Financial Assistance so that any child and family may participate in YMCA programs, regardless of their ability to pay.
