Youth Sports:

The YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility are woven into all the practices and games of the youth sports program. Parents are encouraged to attend practices and cheer at games while watching these young athletes put these core values into action on the courts and fields.

After School Programs
The Lancaster Family YMCA is proud to offer special programs during those important after school hours for students at Price Elementary, Ross Elementary, Wickersham Elementary, and Washington Elementary in the School District of Lancaster. If you are interested in having a sports or fitness after school program at your school or church, contact our Wellness Director at 397-7474.


Mommy & Me   New!
Mommy & Me is a new and special parent-child program for children ages 18 months to three years old. For six weeks, children and their parents will meet in the Y's main gym to play together, improve gross and fine motor skills, sing songs, and enjoy their one-on-one time together. Thursdays 9:30 am - 10:15 am.

Session Dates:
  January 1 - February 9 (Winter I)
  February 10 - March 22 (Winter II)
Fee: Members - Free, Potential Members - $40


Preschool Sports   New!
Preschool sports is a fun and exciting way for parents and their 2-5 year olds to learn the basics of soccer, basketball, and track together. The program will meet Fridays from 10:45 - 11:30 am in the YMCA youth gym.


Session Dates:
  January 1 - February 9 (Winter I)
  February 10 - March 22 (Winter II)
Fee: Members: Free, Potential Members: $40/session


3 and 4 year old programs:

Little Dribblers:
Little Dribblers is a six-week basketball program that introduces the basic fundamental skills and rules of the game. The 3 and 4-year-olds learn dribbling, shooting and passing.

Registration: October 1 - November 30, 2007
Fee: Members - $22, Potential Members - $40
Practice Begins: Wednesday, December 5, 2007 (No practice December 26th)

Kangaroo Kick:
Kangaroo Kick is a soccer program that works on the basic fundamental skills and rules of the game. The kids will learn to dribble, pass, receive, kick, and shoot.

Registration for Spring Season starts February 4, 2008.

Little Sluggers:
Little sluggers is a baseball program that will teach throwing, catching, hitting (off a tee and pitched) base running and positions. A game is planned at the end of the season. All Participants need to bring a glove.

5-12 year olds:

Youth Soccer:
The YMCA youth soccer program, a non-competitive league that stresses the importance of teamwork, is designed to introduce the fundamentals of the game to children ages 5-12. All participants are required to wear shin guards. The children are divided into three divisions: Division I (under 7), Division II (under 10), and Division III (under 13). Games and practices are held at the Lancaster County Park. Following the season, each player will receive a trophy because everyone is a winner at the YMCA.

Registration for Spring Season starts February 4, 2008.


Youth Basketball:
The focus of the youth basketball league is skill development. The program is for boys and girls 5-12 years old who will be grouped into three different divisions based on age and ability. Adults are encouraged to coach, referee or become a team parent!

Registration: April 1, 2008 - May, 16, 2008
Fees: Family Member - $25, Youth Member - $35, Potential Member - $55

Players Clinic:
  May 21, 2008
Practice Begins: Week of June 1, 2008
Games Begin: July 5, 2008

Coaches and Team Parent Meeting: November 29, 2007 @ 6:00 at the YMCA. All volunteer coaches, assistants, and team parents are strongly encouraged to attend. If you are unable to attend, please schedule a time to meet with the Sports Director.

  Division I (5&6 year olds) 5:30-6:00
  Division II (7-9 year olds) 6:00-6:30
